When You Are in Texas, Where Do You Go for News? KHOU, That Is Where

Channel 11 news houston

When the evening news first comes on, my kids and I all chant “Channel 11 News Houston TX! Channel 11 News Houston TX!” We love KHOU. It is a staple in our house, and we do not get our news from any other source. That would just be a waste of time anyway.

I have been watching Houston Channel 11 for years now. It has become a regular tradition in our household. I turn it on as soon as I wake up. It is on while I wake up the kids and get them ready for school, and then while I get ready for work as well. I am fortunate enough to be able to eat lunch at work at the same time that the midday news is on, so I watch it then. When I get home and am making supper for the family, I watch it while the kids do their homework. And we all gather at the dinner table to eat and watch it as well. And then I watch it as I am getting ready for bed, and it is that last thing that I have on before I fall asleep.

My favorite, though, is the Channel 11 Houston weather. I do not understand it, but there is just something so comforting about knowing the weather ahead of time. I know enough in advance that I can schedule at least a day ahead. It helps me to know what to wear to the high school football games, and when I can plan my jogging with the dog.

And the website for the KHOU weather is even better. They have such fun things like beach cams and almanacs, but they also have really useful tabs on there such as interactive radars and current conditions. I rely on them 100% for all of my plans. I know when I need to reschedule something over the weekend or not, and can know how wretched traffic is going to be on the drive home if it is raining.

Oh yeah, and Channel 11 has the best news too. Whether it is local, regional, national, or global, I trust them to tell me how it is. If you are in the Houston area, you should be relying on Channel 11 too. I do not know another alternative that even comes close.
