Enterprise mobile management

Keeping ahead of the technological curve can be equated in our business world as keeping one step ahead of your competitors. This is what the word “enterprise” refers to when speaking about technology, and the most important piece of enterprise technology that people are talking about nowadays are the enterprise mobile apps.

Enterprise mobile apps are becoming more and more important because they are a way for IT managers to keep track of mobile devices that employees use for work. More than half (54 percent) of employees use tablets for both personal and business reasons. This is known as the BYOD model, which means Bring Your Own Device. Using these mobile devices helps employees complete tasks more efficiently, but exposes possible security weaknesses. However, enterprise mobile apps can patch these security leaks quickly, and efficiently.

Many enterprise mobile apps are a form of mobile device management that run in the cloud, and allow for the seamless integration of different mobile devices with their enterprise systems. Using enterprise mobile apps, IT managers can update security, patch and work on multiple devices at once, which can be quite the laborious task when a company has hundred of employees all using different mobiles.

There are many advantages to using cloud based mobile device management solutions. These can automatically support new mobile operating systems, upgrades and releases. Timeliness is incredibly important when updating security because you need to be able to stop holes in firewalls and security leaks as fast as possible.

Although many companies have implemented the BYOD model, there are too few who use security. In fact, there are only 9 percent of companies that have a policy in place to wipe secure company data while leaving personal data in place. Do not make this mistake. If you use a BYOD model, make sure you have enterprise mobile apps in place that can secure any information or data.

I made the mistake of not investing in security and had some of my budget funds withdrawn. It was mortifying.
